Finding and booking a tattoo is messy. People jump between Pinterest, Google, and Instagram—saving ideas, hunting for artists, then messaging them manually. It’s slow, scattered, and especially frustrating for first-timers. For artists, standing out on social media is a constant battle, with no clear way to grow or manage bookings in one place.
We saw the need for a focused platform—one app where users can discover, connect, and book tattoos easily, and artists can reach the right audience without getting lost in the algorithm.
gettatt is a mobile app designed to streamline the entire tattoo experience. It combines curated tattoo discovery, artist portfolios, and direct booking into one seamless interface. By eliminating platform-hopping and offering both users and artists tailored tools,
gettatt rethinks how the tattoo community connects—from inspiration to appointment.
We mapped a full user flow, from onboarding and preference quizzes to profile building, messaging, and salon discovery. The system anticipates needs and simplifies interactions—making it easy for users to search, save, and schedule, while giving artists visibility and control.
Extensive wireframes were developed to prototype the core features and interactions. I focused on creating a flow that felt familiar but was purpose-built for tattoos—minimizing cognitive load while keeping the experience visually immersive and intuitive.

The final UI draws from contemporary visual culture: bold typography, high-contrast elements, and a dark/light interface split that resonates with both clients and creatives. Each screen supports expressive browsing while ensuring usability across devices.
Users kick off their journey by exploring tattoos visually—saving what they like, taking a quick quiz to define their taste, and creating boards to organize inspiration. Their feed becomes more personal with every scroll. A clean user section tracks boards and follows artists.
Find top-rated salons or artists in your city with a few taps. Each profile includes crew info, work samples, and real customer reviews. It’s a transparent way to build trust and choose the right fit, backed by a clear 5-star rating system.

The in-app booking tool lets users set appointments, rate visits, and message artists or salons directly. It replaces awkward DMs with clean, focused communication—and keeps your whole tattoo journey in one place.
Gettatt demonstrated the power of specificity in design—how crafting for a niche audience can lead to more coherent and satisfying solutions. As a designer, this project deepened my ability to lead complex UX flows, structure app architecture, and balance functionality with personality. My role focused on concept development, user journey planning, and creating the complete app structure and flow allowed for a rich exchange of ideas, and strengthened my approach to teamwork, iteration, and presenting ideas clearly across roles.
